The 1st edition of Canvas was held in 2014 with the aim of showcasing the prowess of the students at Hi-Tech Animation in front of industry professionals. While the edition saw participation by mere 250 students, it laid the foundation for all the upcoming editions of the digital arts competition.

After a short hiatus, Canvas returned in 2019 with a bang. The year saw more than 1000 students across 14 centres participating in 14 different categories showcasing their talent. After a neck to neck battle spanning over 4 months, the annual prize distribution ceremony was held in August, 2019 and was attended by eminent industry professional and esteemed recruiters.

The success of Canvas 2019 has paved the way for a grander Canvas 2020. This year, in the course of next few months, students across all the 3 courses offered by the institute – Graphics & Web Design, Animation & VFX, will compete in 18 different categories to win accolades in their own genre. 2000 students from 18 centres spanning across India will participate in this mega event. Renowned industry professionals will adjudicate at this competition & the students will get an opportunity to interact with them. Not only will this aid in the students’ learning curve but also help them build their professional network.The winners in each category shall be awarded with a trophy, certificate.

Our goal for this event is to showcase the talent of our students to the industry experts and create awareness amongst students regarding the prospects and opportunities in the media industry.
